Purchasing Options

Paying for your REAL CHEM enrollment if you've opted out of your school's Inclusive Access or Equitable Access program

If you opt out of your school’s program for course materials, often called an Inclusive Access or Equitable Access program (IA/EA), you will need to pay $35 to buy an OLI payment code and access your REAL CHEM materials.
  1. Your school’s IA/EA program will have an “opt-out period,” during which you can change your mind. Most Torus courses have a grace period for payment that roughly aligns with the opt-out period, so even if you opt-out you can continue working for a while in Torus until the opt-out period ends.
  2. When the opt-out period ends your decision is finalized. If you opted-out you should be able to buy a Torus code from the same location where you made your opt-out selection.
  3. If your Torus payment grace period ends before your IA/EA opt-out period, you might be unable to reach your materials for a little while. Email oli-help@cmu.edu if this happens, and we’ll see how we can help.
